Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

Should I complete my training during working hours or after?

Yes, we understand that training can be time-consuming. It's natural if the prospects of devoting valuable work time to training makes you uneasy. Shouldn't I be concentrating on meeting my weekly targets and deadlines? Or just getting work done? Well yes, but remember, Learning and Growing is a key part of the personal development of NEXIM Employees. I bet you want to score high in your appraisals and be promoted in good time. Then being exceptional in your job, in your thinking and in your daily activities will put you head and shoulders above the rest.

There is not set time for learning new things. Have a free time at work, learn something new. When you get him, learn something new. Training extends beyond job performance. It improves corporate culture and shows you that the Bank cares for your development.

Should employees be required to bring their own devices or should training be limited to the agency computers and mobile devices?

Yes, you are not limited to your office devices, you can also use you mobile phones or personal systems.

When you tell staff they can only take training on their company computers or phones:

  • You can relax knowing that your training, which may involve sensitive company information, is taking place in a secure setting.
  • You won't have to worry about fewer tech-savvy personnel because all necessary software will be pre-installed.
  • Because you already know the system requirements, there's a lower chance that your employees' laptops may crash in the middle of a training session, causing them to lose their progress.

However, we must not overlook the costs of this approach. If you need employees to complete their training solely on business devices, you must provide those devices. While this may seem clear when discussing office workers, it is not necessarily the case with deskless workers.

How do I receive a certificate?

Yes. The majority of our courses have certificates with the ability to print, once the assessment has been passed. Please keep in mind that the pass mark is 80%.

Should employees complete their training during working hours or after?

Training is time-consuming. It's natural if the prospect of your staff devoting valuable work time to training makes you uneasy. Shouldn't they be concentrating on meeting their weekly targets and deadlines? Yes, but also no. Isn't this "sacrifice" worth it if training would help employees perform better in their jobs? To put it another way, we shouldn't think of training as something separate from the workplace - and thus from working hours. Training, on the other hand, extends beyond job performance. It improves corporate culture and shows employees that you care for them. As a result, finding ways to incorporate training during work hours is better for your firm in the long term.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

How do I sign up?

The NEXIM Academy is a Staff-Only platform and is NOT open for SIGNUPS. Every staff will be registered by the Admin and you will get your login details that will grant you access to the platform.

Do we have a Mobile App and how does it work?

Of Course! NEXIM Bank is proud to have its own NEXIM Academy Mobile App which can be downloaded from the iOS and Android stores. Search for NEXIM Academy, download and login with the same Email and Password you created and voila, you continue learning on the App.

NEXIM also launched the first every Official Export Academy called the Nigerian Export Academy (NEXA). Can staff also take courses there?

This is one of the most common questions and infact, a lot of staff already participate and enjoy courses on NEXA. We strongly recommend that you take courses on NEXA and be exposed to what other business people and exporters are learning out there. The courses there are growing very fast and will make you to think like a true export business person.

How many Certificates can I earn?

Most of the courses come with Certificates of Completion and you can earn as many as possible for all the courses you take and complete.

Who approves the Certificate of Completion?

The certificates come with the signature of MD/CEO of NEXIM.

Can I download, share and print my Certificate?

Of course. Your certificate comes digitally and will be in your account for as long as you have access to the Academy. At any point, you can always go back and print a copy or download it. The fun part, you can share in Linkedin or other social media platforms.

How are the Courses developed?

There are different categories of courses. Some will come from the Core Activities of the Bank and will be developed and possibly delivered by staff of the bank or other subject matter experts.

Other courses will be transferrable skills such as Personal Development Courses, Soft Skills and other technical areas that are needed for your continued improved performance and growth within the Bank and beyond. These will be acquired by the bank and made available to you.

Are some courses mandatory?

Yes. NEXIM operates in a very technical industry and every staff must have some minimum knowledge of specific topics like Risk Management, Export Operations and so on. It gets very interesting for staff within some technical departments like Project Finance where they now need to understand other deeper topics. The Human Resources team will ensure some courses are mandatory for the overall performance of the Bank.

Can I enroll for my preferred Course?

How would you like a course on Graphics Design or Photography or Insurance? It’s a Digital World and NEXIM understands that staff members will need to manage a large part of their learning journey. So Yes, we will provide courses that will be available for staff to select on their own and enroll, learn, earn certificates which can be added to the Staff Records and File. This way, there is no end to your growth and development.

What if I don’t remember my password?

That is okay. Simply click on the Forgot Password when you want to sign in and you will be asked for your email address, where the instructors will be sent.
